  • First Strap

I think it's the first strap I broke this year.  Maybe the second.  Anyway I wasn't pulling that hard, so it was probably time to go already.  So in the midst of Wai Han's (Happy Birthday in advance) Spinning class, I switched bike not because the guy beside me smelled funny, but because the strap broke.  I'm sorry if I offended you when I left your side and went over to another bike.

Wai Han was so happy, telling me it's okay, it's okay.  I didn't realize then it was her birthday in three day's time.

  • Under two weeks

Looks like my fears are not unfounded.

  • This is not a joke

    http://www.metacafe.com/watch/788668/worlds_most_dangerous_battery/

I got started reading on lithium ion batteries (yeah, the same kind that's used in your batteries) and whoa, did I find out they're dangerous.

  • Up @ 11.30pm

Slept before 9pm, up at 11.30pm.  Urgh.  And I took a melatonin pill even.  Now I don't even feel sleepy.

    But I'm cranky.

  • Mind shift.

I don't expect those who have never led a newbie ride, those who ride as individuals in a pack of fifty riders, who understand only in the head the importance of volunteer, to really know know how much it irritates me when I have to stick to the responsibility I have chosen.  Would I prefer to be doing my own training?  Of course.  Would I prefer to ride with the faster group?  Of course.  Would I prefer to do something better with my time than stand 6 hours in the hot sun or the rain?  Of course.

The world could be a better place if the same people who rush to the entrance of MRTs before the train has stopped are not also the ones who walk the slowest, the ones who walk six in a row in the same direction and glare back when you bump into them while you trying to get past them are not also the ones who don't even attempt to make way when you do, yada yada yada.  I could go on but life would really be a better place if people think with their head, or better still, think with their hearts.

  • Shitty

Urgh, I got a new helmet.  But part of the back is defective.  I could superglue it and that could like void returning it too so I'm returning it.

And I just found out the anti-shake mechanism in my Fuji camera is causing it to shake even when my hands are not moving.  It's like perpectually anti-shaking in a constant movement which causes the image to keep bouncing around.  Shit man.  How do I know it's not me?  When I switch off the anti-shake, the images stabilize.  *slaps forehead*  I guess I could continue to use it without the anti-shake until I can get the camera fixed.

  • Rant

Letting off a bit of work rant here.  It's difficult to let go of stuffs I have been handling because users are too used to it.  Now that I am having a different role in project, things which should be moving on are still coming back to me.  Even things not my thing but I somehow had to take up to get the project moving, still coming back to me.

I have to start tai chi practise already.

  • If

If I should ever get a Canon camera, it will be with a EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens.

Plastic and not expected to last, however it is the lightest, thinnest, extremely sharp for it's price lens at a focal length I would most likely set my camera at most of the time (it's nearly the same zoom as my F50fd).

Did I say cheapest?  US75 probably means under 300 in S'pore.

  • Change

I look at the way the group is riding now, and especially those who are "leading" the faster rides, it has degenerated to the point where only a couple of crashes will change things.  And I think at the rate things are going, there will be some soon.

On the other hand, the slow group is doing superb.  Has never been so well, with Winnie, James, John, and a couple of others all taking care of them.  Winnie even takes care of the Sat n Sun newbie rides; she's doing a real good job.

  • Blonde sucker?

Okay, I think Jessica Lange is really really pretty.  Looking at trends where my fav actress are Kirsten Dunst, Kate Bosworth, Anne Hathaway... okay that one's not a blonde (thank goodness).

Tootsie is playing on HBO Hits.  Yes, the 1982 movie.  I didn't realize it was her.  But I still remember Jessica Lange from a lot of later movies when she is older already, like Big Fish (2003) and Rob Roy (1995).

Now I need to look for Frances, supposedly one of her best movies.  And probably 1976's version of King Kong.  Okay I don't believe I watched King Kong when I was a kid but don't remember thing from it.  I remember Alien though.  That scared the shit out of me.  It's one big reason why children should not be watching PG13 movies when they are nine.
