  • New Firefox, new fonts

Decided to make some changes.  Especially after I installed Firefox 3 and had to put in new themes coz the old ones didn't work.

For example... I also change my default fonts to Kozuka Gothic Pro Regular.  Which kinda looks like this (I presume if you don't have the same fonts installed, you won't be able to see it).  Which is why this post is a GIF file

    So smart.

I also just found out my "screen" is quite big (coz it can extend over to my TV side if I switch my TV on that mode).  Coz the print-screen captured my wallpaper too.  See?

  • LOL

It's quite funny how some people who are still wondering why I get irritated with some of the things they do, are getting irritated with the newer batches of people for the same reason I get irritated with them.

It's just like OSIM triathlon.  In 2004, I told someone who has probably forgotten now that I told him (*hint: it's a "botak" guy) about the conditions of OSIM.  In 2005, he was spreading pretty much the same story about how bad the race is.  By 2006, the same guys whom he told the stories to, and did the race, were playing the same tune.  2007 is pretty much a repeat of the before.

That's one reason why when someone asks if they should do OSIM, I tell them they should, experience it for themselves and learn and then move on.  That's what the other people do anyway.

Then again, there are some people who never/can't learn, and run on the same track over and over again, unable to learn and move on.  And some people wonder why I am so impatient with these people (until they too, learn the same).

  • Galactica

Drats.  Instead of sleeping early, I got caught trying to update myself with three seasons of BSG.  That's Battlestar Galactica.

    This may help.

  • Kungfu

I wonder why Kungfu Panda is outselling Incredible Hulk at Golden Village cinemas.  In fact, it's outselling everything else everywhere, including Narnia and other movies which should be ahead of it.

I better catch it soon, but I think I better catch the OTHER movies first coz this one might last a while.

  • Photo Re-test

Took some photos with my old cam.

This first one is set with high ISO 800, 1/4s of exposure.  Too much noise.

Set to low ISO 100, 1/4s of exposure.  Too dark.

Low ISO 100, a full sec of exposure.  Looks natural

Low ISO, 8s of exposure.  Too bright?  At least the details are there.  I probably could have use exposure compensation.  I wonder if that would help.  Will try that next time.  This is the first time I've used a 8s exposure (didn't know I could change the exposure timing).  Something new, but pretty much useless unless taking inanimates and landscapes.

Photoshop the photos with auto levels

Here's one of kitty with ISO 100, 1s exposure

This is my watch in the dark, ISO 100 8s exposure

  • This is my private space

Amazingly though, a personal blog is no longer personal when other people decide to write about it in a forum.

    http://digital.asiaone.com/Digital/News/Story/A1Story20080522-66514.html

Apparently, our friend here ranted something in his blog that contained references to some people of another race and that was a couple of months back.  Some holier-than-thou person picked it up, months after it has been posted, and apparently it was discussed with much publicity in another public forum, which the blogger had no idea about.  Before he knew it, he has been arrested and his computer seized for investigations.

    WTF.

    I'll say it again.

    What the FUCK.

Okay, arrest me.  I said it and I'll say it again.  FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.

    There.  I've said it.

THIS IS MY PRIVATE BLOG, IT BELONGS TO ME, AND IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, DON'T READ IT.  Blog are, and have always been, a personal belonging unless you're some big time blogger like Mr Brown or the Sarong Party Girl (I miss her blog, which she shut down since her sister found out about it).

On a separate note, ex-WP member has been arrested for insulting a public officer.  Or should I say, tempted fate.  He posted in his blog taunting the authorities to arrest him, saying he was in a particular hotel in S'pore and also gave his phone number.

'I am now within your jurisdiction... What are you going to do about it?' Nair wrote.

'He's in custody,' Mr Chia said.

  • Bleah!

    Replacements needed:

    1.  Helmet (both).  One of them has a crack on it which was noticed by fellow cyclists on Saturday.  I didn't have any falls from it.  Could have been dropped accidentally by someone  :-

Anyway they are both almost 3 years old so it's time for replacement too.

    2.  Skewer for my wheel.  Cracked.  Urgh.  Gotta find some cheapo replacement.  The original may cost > $100.

  • Things to do before the year ends

    1.  Go Singapore Flyer
    2.  Sell away some junk like my old camera (it's actually a 10mega pixel Casio camera but has been superseeded by the Fujifilm which could be superseeded soon too)
    3.  Touch ice.  If cannot afford, then at least Snow City in Jurong will do also.
    4.  Clean up my room.  Maybe I should get one of those maids-for-hire.

  • Megamovies

I didn't know there were full movies in not-too-bad quality available out there...
