  • Had a long day yesterday.  Went for my test at ACS Labs (yes, apparently ACS really does stand for Anglo Chinese School - and membership to that is only for ACS old boys) and Joyce had a fun time taking photos of me suffering on the bike.  Later we went for a swim at Jurong Kechil except there was no pool there so we took a cab to Bukit Batok pool, which was closed so we headed to Clementi pool, and thankfully, it was open.  Pool was nice; not crowded, not too salty (although AMK is still better in terms of taste).  It started drizzling a bit when we started but still continued to swim.  Managed about 50mins for 20laps, which was slow but at a very manageable speed - the kind that can swim forever.  Arm ache later in the day though, near evening time.  Prob had something to do with the rain too which didn't stop the whole day.

After the swim we had lunch at Clementi - I took chicken nasi briyani costing only $3.50 so that was pretty worth it.  Chicken was very tender and curry was very nice, but I had stomach problems in the evening.  Attended the concert given by Jade and Jasmine at their school, but there was a 45mins interval between so we dropped in the new Rodalink at Jurong Kechil.  Adnan was there, so this is shop opened by Rodalink East.  Checked out the pricing of DuraAce 10 Speed bike; apparently almost everything needs to be changed so that will cost $2200.  Gee...

After the concert, we made our way back to ACS Lab where I collected my pedals because Bill couldn't take it out due to incorrect Allen Key size, then Joyce was "sent" home to meet Esther who was doing a race (duh!) despite just having reached back to Singapore.  Her race was at McRitchie but due to timing we could not exploit her to send us to Trek3 Frankel.  I made my way to Trek3 and spent some time with Nurul regarding the bike.  There were some problems with the shifters which causes the gears to jump when upshifting.  Eventually I decided that it was livable for the moment - a new shifter will cost $200.  KIV the seatpost from Profile Design - really nice, and carbon too but costly.  I will most likely get it next year, or when I get the Titanium version of the USPS seat, together.

Got home by cab.  Talked to the cabbie and he was just two days into his job.  Was previously an engineer but retrenched and at 50, quite difficult to find a new job.  Once home, I dumped the bike and changed then moved out to Joyce's place.  Esther was there already and dinner was ready, and nice as usual.  After dinner, we sat around watching t.v. until time, to go for Master And Commander, movie at 9.50pm Bishan.  I was really tired and sleepy, and even sugar didn't really help much (okay, didn't have that much sugar, most would have helped).  Being stuck in between Joyce and Esther, the two were passing "weird" comments during the movie, with Joyce asking some really funny questions and Esther giving really detailed insights into the sailing stuffs.  During the boring parts of the movie I slept.  Really cannot tahan and this is in fact the first time I've actually slept in a movie.

Didn't really understand the moral of the story at the end of it, and I wasn't alone - Joyce too was asking.  Prob too sleepy.  Esther sent me back and then spent the night at Joyce's place coz she had an off-day the next day.
